I was once again called on to serve as a judge for their annual English Festival at my school. The theme was “I am because we are” (Ubuntu). One of my student took home gold (and a Tpad, iPad rip off). Her speech itself wasn’t especially impressive but what stood out to me was how natural it seemed compared to the other 9 students who read papers or obviously had something memorized.
