As I was lesson planning, the lesson I was using as a model had a discussion question asking “what complaints do men have of women and women have of men?” I expanded a bit and asked “what is the worst thing you can call a woman? Call a man?”

I came up with a short list on my own and noticed something.

Woman- bitch, cunt, whore, bossy, crazy
Man- pussy, bitch, girl, sissy

And I realized:

Basically, some of the worst thing you can call a woman, is a woman.

And the worst thing you can call a man is a woman.

And if you don’t see how/why that is messed up and the importance of feminism, you are beyond saving.

Tomorrow I’ll learn what Chinese people call each other. I wonder if it’s similar to the West. If this goes anything like my class on race last semester, they won’t enjoy themselves, but they’ll still be talking about it months later. And frankly, that’s what I’ve decided I’m here for; not to play games and be a pretty face.
